Kota Kinabalu: The BIMP-EAGA Business Council Sabah Chapter (BEBC Sabah) is launching an ambitious program to drive renewable energy development and socio-economic progress in Sabah.
The initiative will be officially unveiled on Thursday (Dec.27) at the Sabah International Convention Centre, alongside the launch of BEBC Sabah’s new website and the signing of a key Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with Allyssa Certification Sdn Bhd.
This comprehensive program, titled “The Development of the Integrated Program to Identify and Establish New Energy Sources (Renewable Energy) Including Socio-Economic Enhancement Program,” represents a significant investment in Sabah’s future.
It aims to attract substantial investment to bolster the blue economy, enhance food security, expand industrial parks, and develop crucial data center infrastructure.
BEBC Sabah Chairman Dr. Raymond Alfred will detail the program’s potential to transform Sabah’s economy and foster stronger regional collaboration.
The event will also feature a keynote address by Prof. Ts. Dr. Rayner Alfred, focusing on the critical role of AI and data centers in sustainable development.

Further insights will be provided by DSP Madius Tangau, Member of Parliament for Tuaran and Chairman of Sabah Electricity, and a presentation on green hydrogen and green energy by Freddie Vuksan and Prof. Misry Yusoff.
The event, scheduled for 9:00 AM in the Kinabalu Room (Level 5) of the Sabah International Convention Centre will include the MOA signing, website launch, and a press conference.
