Kapayan Assemblyman Chin Teck Ming said the issue was raised based on a
Daily Express report and not on claims made by opposition assemblymen, adding that the newspaper was a credible and established source.
Deputy Chief Minister III Datuk Ewon Benedick, however, urged assemblymen to verify information before relying on media reports in the House, saying members should ensure the accuracy of information they cite during debates.

Chin maintained that the
Daily Express report was used as a reference, but Speaker Datuk Seri Kadzim M Yahya reminded the House that newspaper reports, regardless of the publication, are not recognised as official reference material under the Standing rders.
