ABDUL Ghani has raised concerns over delays affecting several infrastructure development projects in Nabawan, urging the Government to ensure faster implementation and closer monitoring.
Among the projects highlighted are the Sungai Pancuran Bridge Project, which was previously reported to face funding issues involving utility relocation works, and the Jalan Kraftangan Bridge project, which has allegedly experienced delays.
He also called for the construction of the new Nabawan Native Court building to be prioritised, saying the institution plays an important role in preserving customs, culture and social harmony among the district’s multi-ethnic communities.
Abdul Ghani urged the Government to strengthen monitoring of concessionaires and contractors responsible for road maintenance to ensure works meet required specifications and quality standards.
He also proposed the construction of a motorcycle track connecting Kampung Sinapar, Kampung Saliliran and Kampung Kabu, noting that the area still lacks proper road access despite more than six decades since Malaysia’s independence.
In addition, he called for increased allocations to maintain rivers, streams, former logging roads and agricultural roads in Nabawan, which are often damaged during the rainy season and affect farmers’ ability to transport produce to markets.

On district development, Abdul Ghani sought an update on the proposed Nabawan New Township, which he said could help boost agriculture, tourism and small businesses in the area.
He also urged the Government to improve rural education facilities by enhancing internet connectivity, ensuring stable electricity supply and providing better learning infrastructure so Sabah’s children can enjoy equal educational opportunities.
