Kota Kinabalu: MRSM Ranau has been named the Best Mara Educational Institution 2026 after delivering outstanding results in the 2025 Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) examination, an achievement that also placed it among the country’s top four MRSMs.

The national award was presented in conjunction with the Hari Anugerah Pendidik Mara 2026, while the achievement also saw MRSM Ranau emerge as the best-performing institution among the nine MRSMs in Borneo.

The 2026 D-MAX also introduces an 8-speed automatic gearbox with sequential shift across the range, including the Single Cab variant, making it the first pick-up truck in Malaysia to offer an automatic transmission in that body style.
“The State Government is proud of this achievement because it proves that Sabah’s children are capable of competing and excelling at the highest level when given quality education and continuous support,” he said.

Masidi said this when receiving a courtesy call from the Malaysia Muafakat Body (Badan Pemuafakatan Malaysia) MRSM Ranau branch, led by its chairperson Pamela Joseph, together with MRSM Ranau principal Ismail Badri and their delegation at his office.

He said Masidi’s support for education and human capital development had encouraged institutions in the district to improve academic performance while producing students who are academically excellent, competitive and of good character.

Ismail said MRSM Ranau’s success in receiving the Best Mara Educational Institution 2026 award and being ranked among the top four of 57 MRSMs nationwide was the result of a collective effort.

“This award is the outcome of the integrated efforts of all parties, including the continuous support of leaders, educators, parents and students,” he said.
