TAWAU: Four mainstream media journalists from Sabah's East Coast took part in a two-day exposure programme that gave them the opportunity to observe proceedings at the State Legislative Assembly (DUN) firsthand.
The participants comprised reporters from national broadcasting stations and local newspapers, including
Daily Express, who are based in Tawau, Kalabakan, Kunak, Semporna and Lahad Datu.

The programme was organised by Assistant Women, Health and Community Wellbeing Minister and Kukusan Assemblywoman Datuk Rina Jainal to provide outstation journalists with a better understanding of the State Assembly and the policy-making process.
Besides observing debates in the Assembly, the group also met Women, Health and Community Wellbeing Minister Datuk Julita Majungki, Youth, Sports and Entrepreneur Development Minister Datuk Nizam Abu Bakar Titingan and Assistant Minister Datuk Seri Dr Anil Sandhu, as well as toured the State Assembly building.
Rina said the programme aimed to strengthen journalists' understanding of State Government policies and ensure media practitioners serving outside Kota Kinabalu gained a clearer picture of the State's democratic process, while expressing hope they would share the knowledge gained with colleagues in line with responsible journalism.
