LABUAN: Sekolah Kebangsaan Pekan Satu (SKPS) Labuan claimed the Overall Champion title at the 2026 Labuan Federal Territory Schools Sports Council (MSSWPL) Hockey Championship held at Labuan International School.
A school spokesperson said SKPS secured the championship after winning the Under-12 Boys (L12) category and finishing as runners-up in the Under-12 Girls (P12) category.
Several SKPS players also received individual awards, with Hilda from Year Six Bijaksana named Best Female Defender, Azlan from Year Six Bijaksana winning Best Male Defender, and Aimir from Year Six Genius receiving the Best Male Player of the Tournament award.
The achievement was attributed to the players’ dedication, continuous effort and commitment from the coaching team.
The victory marked SKPS’ return to the top spot in the MSSWPL Hockey Championship, strengthening its reputation as one of Labuan’s leading school hockey teams.

Meanwhile, SKPS’ Integrated Special Education Programme (PPKI) contingent delivered another strong performance at the 2026 MSSWPL Special Education Athletics Championship, collecting eight gold, two silver and five bronze medals to finish second overall in the primary school category.

SKPS Headmistress Anita Shyamini S Azman said the achievement reflected the athletes’ hard work, determination and teamwork involving students, coaches, team managers and the school community.
She added that the championship provided an important platform to identify talent and develop athletics skills among PPKI students.
In the primary school category, SK Sungai Lada emerged champion, followed by SKPS in second place and SK Bukit Kalam in third.
For the secondary school category, SMK Mutiara took first place, followed by SMK Pantai and SMK Lajau.
The championship was held at the SMK Pantai field and jointly organised by SK Pekan Satu and SMK Lajau.
