Kota Kinabalu: A 63-year-old heavy vehicle driver with permanent resident (MyPR) status, who is charged with handling property linked to a terrorist, will go on trial from April 6 to 8 next year.
High Court Judicial Commissioner Ratanah Devi Yusof Perumal fixed the trial dates for Tahadji Jirani during the mention of his case on Wednesday.
Tahadji is accused of knowingly handling property belonging to a person identified in the charge as Myma A.
Mabanza by sending RM284.10 through a money transfer service at TML Remittance Centre Sdn Bhd, at Jalan Singapore, Sandakan, for the benefit of the said person on June 24, 2016, at 9.01am.
He is charged under Section 130Q(1) of the Penal Code, which provides for imprisonment of up to 20 years, a fine, and forfeiture of the property involved, on conviction.
On June 11, this year, Tahadji was first charged at the Sessions Court in Sandakan, but no plea was recorded.

The case was then transferred to the High Court here, where he pleaded not guilty to the charge on June 16.
Deputy Public Prosecutor Nur Ainaa Ridzwan appeared for the prosecution.
Tahadji, who was represented by counsel Sharatha Masyaroh John Ridwan Lincon, was ordered to be remanded further.
