TAWAU: Police arrested a 23-year-old foreign man suspected of breaking into a house in Taman Ria 10, Jalan Utara, and stealing electronic items worth more than RM8,000.
Acting Tawau Police Chief Supt Wilynton Enchana Watt said the unemployed suspect was detained at about 3.30pm on Wednesday in Kampung Titingan during Op Lejang/Op Kesan Khas following intelligence and public information.
He said police seized a Honda EX5 motorcycle without a registration number and a key believed to have been used in the offence.
The victim discovered three smartphones and a PlayStation console missing at about 5.30am on July 17 before lodging a police report.
The suspect, who has a previous drug-related record, is being investigated under Section 457 of the Penal Code and Section 6(1)(c) of the Immigration Act 1959/63 for allegedly being in the country without valid travel documents.
