KENINGAU: A man was found dead on the pavement outside a business premises at LS Supermarket, Sook town, early Saturday, believed to have suffered an electric shock while attempting to cut an electrical cable.
Keningau District Police Chief Superintendent Yampil Anak Garai said police received a report at 5.54am after a security guard found a man lying unconscious in front of the premises.

The victim was identified as Esma Alpfonsus Sapian, 34, from Kampung Sinaron, Keningau, and was pronounced dead at the scene by a medical assistant from Sook Health Clinic.
Yampil said initial investigations found the victim was lying face down on the pavement with no signs of struggle or external injuries, while a cutter was found on the roof of the premises and one electrical cable was found to have been cut.
He said police believed the victim had attempted to cut the cable before suffering an electric shock and falling onto the pavement, adding that the case has been classified as a Sudden Death Report (SDR) with no criminal elements detected so far.
