Foreign worker dies after electric shock in Nabawan

NABAWAN: A 29-year-old foreign man died after being electrocuted while carrying out lamp post installation works at Kampung Malinja A&B here on Tuesday.

The Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) said it received an emergency call at 11.49am and deployed six firefighters from the Nabawan Fire and Rescue Station, who arrived at the scene at 11.56am.

Operations commander PBK I Gustin Asin said firefighters removed the victim, identified as David Karpus, from the hazardous area before medical personnel from the Health Ministry confirmed his death at the scene.

The body was subsequently handed over to the police for further action, while the operation was brought under control at 12.12pm and concluded three minutes later.
