Kota Kinabalu: Re-elected Sabah Lawn Bowl Association (Bowls Sabah) President Shuib Hashim has made it a priority to undertake significant initiatives to boost the sport in the region.
He gave his words after being retained to lead the association for the 2026-2029 session at the Annual General Meeting held early this month.
“The mandate is a great trust that I will uphold to further transform the landscape of lawn bowling in Sabah
“The reappointment reflects the confidence and trust of the association members in the leadership that has successfully ensured the continuity of the administration and development of lawn bowling in Sabah despite challenges in recent years,” he said.
Shuib, who is also the Lawn Bowls Malaysia Federation Vice President, added that they aimed to strengthen the association at the district level, expand community participation in lawn bowling as well as produce more athletes who are able to compete at the national and international levels.
“We want the development of this sport to be comprehensive rather than concentrated in just one or two areas. Every district must have equal opportunities to grow and to produce quality athletes, technical officers, and coaches,” he said.
