Kota Kinabalu: Sabah Police Commissioner Datuk Jauteh Dikun said a report lodged by a leading counsel in the Zara Qairina case has been referred to the State Education Department for appropriate action.
When asked whether police would be conducting an investigation, Jauteh again said: “The matter has been left to the Education Department.”
Datuk Ram Singh had earlier called for investigations into another female student in the same school as the late Zara who allegedly jumped from the first floor and was said to have broken her leg on the first anniversary of Zara’s death last Wednesday.
The coroner’s inquiry into the first incident is ongoing. The student in the latest case was also alleged to have left behind a suicide note.
The Education Department did not comment for two days and later only said the student was stable with no serious injuries.
The statement did not carry any signature and repeated attempts for comments by Director Datuk Raisin Saidin proved futile.
