SEMPORNA: Police arrested a 52-year-old man and seized 5.34 grams of drugs following an operation at Kampung Bangau-Bangau, here, on Saturday night.
District Police Chief, Superintendent Tan Hiap Wah said the suspect was detained following the Op Tapis carried out by the Narcotic Crime Investigation Division at about 10.30pm at the roadside in the village.
He said the result of inspection found substances believed to be Syabu (Methamphetamine) weighing 5.34 grams in the suspect’s possession.
“The suspect was brought to Semporna Police Headquarters for investigation under Section 39A(1) of the Dangerous Drug Act 1952,” he said.
Tan said police will not compromise against any individual(s) involved in drug abuse or drug trafficking activities.
He said Police will intensify operations and enforcement to curb these activities.

“Cooperation from the public is important in conveying information to Police in combating the drug activities for the safety as well as well being of the community,” he added.
