Kota Kinabalu: Despite the approaching winter, the recent Kaamatan Festival brought warmth, joy and a strong sense of community to Sabahans and other cultural groups in New Zealand.
Organised by the Sabah Auckland Association New Zealand Incorporated (Saanzi), this year’s celebration marked its fourth official Kaamatan event in New Zealand since 2022.
Saanzi was officially formed under incorporated Societies Act 2022 on November 2, 2023.
Its President Devy Delecia was delighted to welcome some 210 attendees to the event held at Howick Pakuranga Netbaall Centre in Auckland, who were from diverse background, with other ethnic communities and guests from professionals and culture sectors.
