INANAM Assemblywoman Edna Majimbun called for a comprehensive traffic impact study to tackle worsening congestion in Manggatal and Kolombong.
She said rapid residential and commercial development had pushed the roundabout near Good Shepherd Church in Manggatal beyond its original capacity, while the bridge route near Borneo Sports Arena in Kolombong faced severe daily congestion.
She said the opening of the Pan Borneo Highway had also altered traffic patterns, worsening congestion at the Kampung Pomotodon flyover junction.
She urged the government to consider measures including traffic light adjustments, lane widening, additional turning lanes, improved road design and an integrated traffic management plan for the Inanam-Manggatal-Kolombong corridor.
She also called for urgent upgrading and drainage works on Jalan Ruminding, describing its condition as critical due to potholes, erosion and landslide risks.
Edna said residents and teachers at SK Ruminding had incurred high vehicle repair costs because of the damaged road, which serves as a key route for daily travel.

Shesaid reliable water supply was essential and urged the government to strengthen storage capacity and improve old infrastructure.
She further urged faster gazettement of customary village lands in Inanam to protect residents’ ownership rights and allow better delivery of basic facilities.
She called for accelerated mapping, boundary surveys and approval processes for long-pending village land applications.
