KKJA Chairman Datuk Jimmy Goh said the blood donation drive is one of the association’s annual charity initiatives aimed at helping to address the long-standing blood shortage faced by hospitals.
He said this year’s target is to collect 150 pints of blood to provide hope to patients in urgent need of transfusions.
“Regardless of wealth or social status, people often only realise how precious blood is when they face a medical emergency that requires a transfusion,” he said.
“We hope the public will embrace this humanitarian spirit and give generously to help save lives,” he added.
Goh expressed his appreciation to Sim for his continued support towards the cause, describing him as a young and accomplished individual who has consistently contributed to the community despite not holding public office.
He highlighted Sim’s recent efforts in coordinating water truck deliveries for businesses and residents during the water shortage in the city centre as an example of his commitment to public service.
Goh also praised Sim’s leadership at Kojasa Holdings Berhad, which led to the opening of the company’s first Kojasa Mart outlet in Tuaran, offering daily necessities at affordable prices to help ease the burden on lower-income groups. A second outlet is planned for Donggongon.
He said KKJA was grateful for Sim’s commitment to giving back to the community.
Meanwhile, KKJA Blood Donation Organising Chairman Yap Siong Han called on eligible members of the public to come forward and support the initiative.
Those interested in finding out more or contributing as sponsors may contact Yap, who is also KKJA’s Training Director, at 016-802 2104.
