SANDAKAN: A man was injured after a two-tonne lorry collided with a four-tonne lorry at Mile  9, Jalan Gereja, in front of the Petronas gas plant in Sandakan on Friday morning.

The Fire and Rescue Department received the emergency call at 9.52am and a team of six personnel from the Sandakan station arrived at the scene at 10.07am.

The 31-year-old victim had exited his vehicle before firefighters arrived and was handed over to Health Ministry ambulance personnel for further treatment.

After ensuring there were no further hazards at the scene, the operation was concluded at 10.23am, with police and Health Ministry personnel also involved in the response.
