Foreign man held over underwear theft
Underwear theft suspect leads police to hidden items.
TAWAU: A foreign man in his 20s was arrested on Tuesday for allegedly stealing a woman's underwear from a clothesline outside a house in Kampung Haji Matahir earlier this month.

Acting Tawau Police Chief Supt Wilynton Enchana Watt said the suspect was detained at about 10.30pm in front of a house in the same village following intelligence and police investigations after a report was lodged by the victim's 47-year-old husband.

He said police later recovered several pieces of women's underwear, a green shirt and a black songkok believed to have been used by the suspect after he led officers to the items hidden in bushes and inside his house.

Investigations also revealed the suspect did not possess valid identification documents to remain or work in Malaysia, and the case is being investigated under Section 379 of the Penal Code.

The 2026 D-MAX also introduces an 8-speed automatic gearbox with sequential shift across the range, including the Single Cab variant, making it the first pick-up truck in Malaysia to offer an automatic transmission in that body style.
Wilynton urged the public to strengthen security at their homes and report any suspicious activities to the police to help combat crime.
