TAMBUNAN: A 10-tonne lorry loaded with steel caught fire along Jalan Keningau-Tambunan near Kampung Kitou on Wednesday night.
Emergency services received a call at 8:58pm, prompting a response from the Tambunan fire station, located 23km away.

A team of seven firefighters arrived at 9:22pm to find the blaze engulfing the lorry’s cabin.
Firefighters quickly contained the fire by 9:34pm using a hose reel, and fully extinguished it about 17 minutes later.
A follow-up inspection confirmed no further danger.
No injuries were reported, and the male driver escaped unharmed.
